About me

I dream, I test my dreams against my beliefs, I dare to take risks, and I execute my vision to make those dreams come true. (Walt Disney)
I dream, I test my dreams against my beliefs, I dare to take risks, and I execute my vision to make those dreams come true.
Holger FischerI have been working as a Principal User Experience Consultant at eresult GmbH in Cologne since January 2019.
During my studies of computer science and media at the Technische Hochschule Köln, I specialized in usability engineering and gained interdisciplinary insights from psychological, sociological and technical perspectives.
Before joining eresult GmbH, I worked as a research assistant at the Paderborn University in the Software Innovation Lab (SI-Lab), the Software Quality Lab (s-lab) and the Cooperative Computing & Communication Lab (C-LAB). Within the scope of research and industry projects, I introduced usability activities in companies and accompanied them in the elicitation of user requirements and the implementation of first human-centered projects. In the context of research activities I published on various conferences (e.g. HCI International in Orlando, Las Vegas and Vancouver; HCSE in Stockholm; INTERACT in Bamberg; REFSQ in Gothenburg) on topics like UX method selection, Work 4.0, digital assistance systems or UX in software quality.
Since 2010 I have been a member of the German Usability Professionals Association – German UPA e.V. – and since 2014 I have occupied the role of Vice President. Furthermore, I sit on the extended board of the UXQB – International Usability & UX Qualification Board e.V. and am a member of the Software Ergonomics group of the German association of computer science – Gesellschaft für Informatik e.V. – as well as the working group TC13.2 “Methodologies for User-Centered Systems Design” of the IFIP.
